Jireh Cell Sunday Presentation

So long! We're back!

Sorry for not updating this blog for a long time as most of our members are busy with many things - moving houses, wedding preparation, starting up new business and etc.

Last Sunday it was a Cell Awareness Sunday @ EPCC and all CGs are supposed to present something on the stage. Jon wrote a very beautiful intro and chose a beautiful song for us to present on stage as a CG together. Let's cut it short and enjoy the video that I asked Terry to take for me (Thanks Terry!!) during our performance.

Let's make this our prayer too for our CG.

We are not the best looking CG nor are we the most talented CG.
Nor are we the most loving CG. We are what we are... warts and all.
Yes we are not perfect - far from it but we aspire to be better or else we would not come for CG.
We come because its in our DNA as Christians to want to Love God (worship!) to grow (word!) and to love and serve each other (fellowship -whack and welcome!). We come because we want to be more like our Daddy.
So it is not by chance we end up in this CG.
God chose us for our differences as well as our alikeness.
So when we come with differences to put them aside and allow His love to flow through us, we will become ONE VOICE that will glorify HIM.

John 13:34"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."

One Voice

Father we ask of You this day, come and heal our land.
Knit our hearts together,
That Your glory might be seen in us;
Then the world will know that Jesus Christ is Lord!

Let us be one voice that glorifies Your name.
Let us be one voice declaring that You reign.
Let us be one voice in love and harmony,
And we pray O God, grant us unity.

PS: If you realise - we are in rainbow color - though some say it's not obvious! =)

Penang Old Folks Home Visit - Feb 2009

Feb 21, 2009 (Sat), Jireh Unlimited CG visited Penang Old Folks Home to do community work. It's also a join effort with Euwing's caring team. As Pooi Teng mentioned that our presence is to talk, communicate and also to listen to them. We have visited this same group previously at the converted bungalow; and now they are relocated to a better place. As there's no more high steps and it has larger compound.

Madam Liau, the chief nurse took us to meet them. Unknowingly, we were given an opportunity to entertain them. How? We dance and we sing. In fact, there's a great potential in this CG as we have a number of good dancer (Jason and Raymond). The senior citizens enjoy very much and the move and dance along.

I managed to interview some of them as how they are doing right now and whether they love this new location. From their reply, I can feel and see thru their eyes that they are much happier and love this place. Main reason is because they can move freely and the pavement are flat. Accessing to public phone and canteen is so much easier too. We also understand that the Ah Pek also help out in gardening, which is consider a good exercise.

In my personal view, Ah Pek and Ah Mah are very lonely people. Our presence really cheer them up and make their day. People always think that visiting old folks is a very difficult thing to do, but it isn't that bad at all. All they need is someone to talk and listen. Of course any helps given in terms of money or love gifts will lessen the care-taker's burden as they depends wholly on cheerful and generous givers - just like Jesus too.

*EPCC is a cell based church, and our main focus is to serve our community. If you would like to join our church or cell group, please call up our church office for more details.

Christmas Harvest 2008 - I'll Be Home for Christmas Photos

What is a gathering without food? We have plenty of it. Fried rice, baked pumpkin, sandwiches, chicken curry, cakes, popiah, mashed potatoes, fried chicken and many more. Thanks for all the Jireh and Zion CG members for bring them.

Jireh and Zion CG members and visitors gathering to hear word of wisdom from Benji. Most of us are on Santa hat. But, Christmas is not about Santa, more importantly it is a birthday of Jesus, our savior, the son of god, the most high, king of king, lord of lord, alpha and omega... the list goes on. We gather to celebrate His birthday.

Benji invites us to grab our food from kitchen. While EuGene busy looking at his fingers and wondering, is it dirty? Shall I wash it? :)

Kitchen kinda crowded. Everyone is grabbing a bite.

Isaac on Santa hat.

Happy dining. It looks like Isaac is always looking into the camera.

Poor Daniel (small) eating while looking at the presents. Which will be mine? I bet my present will be most out-standing. Indeed it is. Scroll down for it.

EPCC caroling team. Powerful, awakening and spectacular performance. Too bad I can't record it and post it here. One of the best I ever heard. By the way, I attended church in Ipoh, KL and now Penang EPCC church, so the you can take my word for it.

Caroling team again. Behind the carollers is Eric Lim, one of Jireh CG member and the official photographer for EPCC. He is not joining us tonight, instead he tags along the carollers and visit one CG after another.

Isaac, son of brother Eric Lim virtually playing a guitar while enjoying the performance by our carollers.

Everyone is cheered up by Isaac's "performance".

Win, lose or draw event prepared by Sister Winnie and Brother EnGene. Here is Daniel (small) posting with his art. The answer to this is Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Brother Eric Cheng posting with his art. Movie titled Independance Day. He didn't complete much before his team guessed the correct answer.

Team One focusing on the drawing during the event.

Benji sharing some testimonies and the real meaning of christmas. He enlightened many of us and eventually one soul is saved. Amen!!

Gifts for the gift exchange event. "Why the tree is bandaged?" asked Jon.

Jireh, Zion CG members and visitors posing for a group photograph.

2nd photograph posing which now includes me. :)

Brother Jason got a towel from the gift exchange. He plans to wear it as a sarong. :)

Sister Pooi Theng got a toilet stick and hammer. Everyone gagging and wondering who is so cheeky?

Turned up it is Daniel (small) whom bought the toilet stick and hammer. So there was a request for Eric and Daniel (small) post for a photograph. Eric hammering Daniel (small).

p/s: no animals or human harmed for the production of this photograph.

Isaac whom played the virtual guitar earlier wanted to try some real guitar.

Isiah (not too sure the spelling is right) plays guitar too after seeing his brother performing for everyone of us.
