So long! We're back!

Sorry for not updating this blog for a long time as most of our members are busy with many things - moving houses, wedding preparation, starting up new business and etc.

Last Sunday it was a Cell Awareness Sunday @ EPCC and all CGs are supposed to present something on the stage. Jon wrote a very beautiful intro and chose a beautiful song for us to present on stage as a CG together. Let's cut it short and enjoy the video that I asked Terry to take for me (Thanks Terry!!) during our performance.

Let's make this our prayer too for our CG.

We are not the best looking CG nor are we the most talented CG.
Nor are we the most loving CG. We are what we are... warts and all.
Yes we are not perfect - far from it but we aspire to be better or else we would not come for CG.
We come because its in our DNA as Christians to want to Love God (worship!) to grow (word!) and to love and serve each other (fellowship -whack and welcome!). We come because we want to be more like our Daddy.
So it is not by chance we end up in this CG.
God chose us for our differences as well as our alikeness.
So when we come with differences to put them aside and allow His love to flow through us, we will become ONE VOICE that will glorify HIM.

John 13:34"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."

One Voice

Father we ask of You this day, come and heal our land.
Knit our hearts together,
That Your glory might be seen in us;
Then the world will know that Jesus Christ is Lord!

Penang Old Folks Home Visit - Feb 2009

Feb 21, 2009 (Sat), Jireh Unlimited CG visited Penang Old Folks Home to do community work. It's also a join effort with Euwing's caring team. As Pooi Teng mentioned that our presence is to talk, communicate and also to listen to them. We have visited this same group previously at the converted bungalow; and now they are relocated to a better place. As there's no more high steps and it has larger compound.

Madam Liau, the chief nurse took us to meet them. Unknowingly, we were given an opportunity to entertain them. How? We dance and we sing. In fact, there's a great potential in this CG as we have a number of good dancer (Jason and Raymond). The senior citizens enjoy very much and the move and dance along.

I managed to interview some of them as how they are doing right now and whether they love this new location. From their reply, I can feel and see thru their eyes that they are much happier and love this place. Main reason is because they can move freely and the pavement are flat. Accessing to public phone and canteen is so much easier too. We also understand that the Ah Pek also help out in gardening, which is consider a good exercise.

In my personal view, Ah Pek and Ah Mah are very lonely people. Our presence really cheer them up and make their day. People always think that visiting old folks is a very difficult thing to do, but it isn't that bad at all. All they need is someone to talk and listen. Of course any helps given in terms of money or love gifts will lessen the care-taker's burden as they depends wholly on cheerful and generous givers - just like Jesus too.

What is a gathering without food? We have plenty of it. Fried rice, baked pumpkin, sandwiches, chicken curry, cakes, popiah, mashed potatoes, fried chicken and many more. Thanks for all the Jireh and Zion CG members for bring them.

But, Christmas is not about Santa, more importantly it is a birthday of Jesus, our savior, the son of god, the most high, king of king, lord of lord, alpha and omega... the list goes on. We gather to celebrate His birthday.

What a wonderful CG session we had last Friday as we have new pianist for the CG and it's truly a blessing.

She is good and very focus, definately had a good preparation for the CG.

Praise the Lord! Jason Nga recently being admitted to hospital due to chest pain. We are glad to see him back here together fellowshipping. He has also decided to take a very stern action to control his food intake.

This is during Word time. Alex, the theologian checking facts from the Holy Book. Benji separated the CG into 3 groups; each group got to prepare 2 questions for the others to answer. I would say all those questions being asked were tough. One must know the meaning of the verses in the study before able to answer it...if you are lucky, you may able to answer 50% of it. How I wish we could have a time machine and get back to Jesus time and see the exact situation and ask some questions to Jesus and His gang.

Ended the CG with a beautiful song....everybody had a recharged night and looking forward for weekend and Sunday.

Here's some photos taken last week for church collection and also for the EPCC web. Jireh Unlimited was the 1st group to have the CG photos taken on that day. There are a lot more CG waiting for their turn.

Not everyone was there for photo shooting on that day; and we will think for another round of photo session soon. The theme for photo shooting was "jeans & casual". Overall, JU CG members can pose very well and are qualified models.

I like this photo very much. Want to guess why? Hahaha...just look at the photo. You can check how many pair of legs were there and how many faces can be seen clearly (someone is missing).

BBQ Outing - From Pantai Keracut to Benji's Home

Initial plan was to have BBQ at Pantai Keracut...mana tau around 5.45am Saturday morning I got an SMS from WinnieT that EG is down with food poisoning. I was totally went blank as I knew that there are a few of our CG member cannot make it already, After 15min, I got a call from Benji for the similar update about EG. It's 6am in the morning and it's pretty hard to think for a plan B - the only thing that I care about is the 28++pcs chicken wings in the fridge that I have marinated since Thursday night. So, the plan changed from Plan A --> Plan B, BBQ in Benji's place and I think it's a good plan as this will allow most of our CG members to come for lunch as it is nearby to offices and home.

At 8am, everyone gathered at Benji's place and someone already start to talk where to have breakfast. Tanya sini and tanya sana...everyone not sure what to have for breakfast. Ten..ten..ten...Grace suggested we got to town nearby Beach St for famous morning breakfast. Suprisingly that same morning, a few of us got stomach upset too, not sure what happened.

October Babies Birthday Celebration

Isiah is good at blowing candles and cutting cake. He "helped" Daniel by blowing Daniel's candle too. He blow candles and cut the cake so swift, I didnt managed to photograph the cake cutting moment.

Isiah is the center of attraction today. He is super active. Normally he is rather quiet. He stole the limelight from Isaac (his older brother) tonight.

Urban Street Outreach (USO) outing for the month of September 2008

Our CG involved in Urban Street Outreach (USO) last friday night. It has been an awesome experience especially for me. However, it started with a little havoc whereby I forgotten my camera's battery. Well, I went back and grab it.

Finally Benji (our beloved CG leader) arrived in style. I can't remember what is their conversation about. From the picture, it seems like they are ready for a fight :)

USO person in-charge giving us (most of us are first timers) briefing on what we should and shouldn't do during the outing. I only remembered one thing he said, which is "let the lord lead you on the talking and conversation with the homeless people".

I can't take many of these pictures as I am afraid they will get offended. Our intention for the outing is to help and talk to them. Hence when we are doing the actual work, I kept my camera in the bag.

Hi everyone….

Doing great this week? :). Weather has been cold and I hope you guys are wearing enough in the office so that you don’t catch cold. :)

It’s going to be a short announcement this week with two main things:

This Friday, we’ll be having Late Night Prayer @ EPCC @ 8.15pm – 11.30pm. Come and join all of us in prayer for our nation, for FPC and other upcoming events in EPCC. Again, for those who think this is a boring event, come and it will change your mind. It’ll be a night of worship and praying all together. You won’t have chance to feel sleepy at all. :)
Besides, on the same day (Friday), our CG (together with other CGs – Zion, Pearl of Joy, Pekaka CG) will lead the Morning Prayer on Friday Morning 6am – 7am. I know it’s hard to wake up early in the morning esp. the weather is so niceeee to zzzzz these days, but let’s just try our best. If you need morning call, tell Benji, he’ll gladly call you guys (right, bro? :))

Jon is currently out of Malaysia (I think he’s now in Bangkok) for his business. He’ll be back on Saturday evening. Do keep him in your prayer for his safety in his travel.

Weeks ago, we had a birthday celebration in CG for July & August babies - EG, Yuki, & Melissa. Thanks to Adeline (newly appointed CG birthday planner :P) who planned the celebration. It was a surprise to the birthday babies as no one expected it.

May they have another blessed year ahead, and may the good Lord bless them at all times.

WorkOut Session

On Friday's CG, (BIG) Daniel suggested to have some sports session, after some small discussion, we have decided to go for badminton + gym session in one of the MNCs in Bayan Lepas, since the employees are allowed to bring some friends in.

7 of us turned up. 4 guys were playing badminton, with 2 girls + 1 guy (strong one :P) went for the gym upstair. It was a good environment with good facilities.

We had a mix double before we all left the place. I somehow forgot who won the game. I don't think it's me & EG since our teamwork wasn't not very good. But anyhow, we had a good time playing.

It was a very good workout session. I bet everyone had very good sleep on that night after the heavy sweating. Doing sport is good for health since it helps to release stress and detoxifying our bodies, as well as improving the bonding among us. One stone two birds, or maybe more birds. :P. We should do more of this in the future so that all of us will be more fit.

Hello everyone :)

This week we’ll have no CG on Friday. We’re taking a break since it’s a long weekend and most people are planning to go back to hometown this weekend. So, for those who’re going back home, we pray for Journey Mercy.

For those who’re staying back in Penang, don’t worry, there are plans for you too. :). EPCC is having a National Day Prayer on 1st Sept 2008, 8pm – 10pm. It’s Penang combined churches prayer in EPCC. We have a special Guest, YB Lim Guan Eng is coming to join us too. As mentioned by Pastor Sam last Sunday, they will probably remove all chairs as we’re expecting a lot of ppl coming for the prayer meeting. So, come with jeans so that it’s easier for you to squat down or sitting down. :)

EPCC Anniversary Weekend - Friday Revival and Healing Meeting

There was no CG meeting at Benji’s place yesterday. We met in church for a Revival and Healing Meeting. This is part of the Anniversary Weekend Celebration.

It was an AWESOME event. We could feel the ‘heat’ of God’s Presence surrounding us. God’s Presence was so strong in our midst, many lives were touched.

It was great to see Unlimited Zone (Jireh Unlimited and Zion) members worshipping together.

Pr. Luis shared his personal moments on how he first resisted Christ and his acceptance of Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. He also shared on how God empowered him with the Holy Spirit. There were tales of his encounters with demonic spirits. He calls them Confrontation of Powers. Of course there is no power like the POWER OF GOD for He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world!! Praise the Lord!

We had 2 new comers and both accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Praise the Lord!

The evening ended with a Healing Rally and yes... supper!!

It has been almost 6 months since Joan and I joined JU.

Every since that day, our lives changed as God touched us over and over again.

Here's a summary of how God has changed us and called us to be FANATICs for Jesus!

F - Fascinated by His Goodness
We've since been deeply fascinated by His Goodness!

A - Awe Struck in His Presence
The meaning of Awesome Reverence never had been more real to us. It humbles the heart and fills us with joy!

N - Never Ending Mercies
The Steadfast Love of the Lord never ceases. His Mercies NEVER comes to an end. They are new every morning. Great is the Lord our God!

A - Amazing Grace
By His Grace we are saved! Salvation belongs to the Lord!

T - Tremendous Blessings
OOohhhh yah... His Blessings never end! I always had problems getting to CG early. The first CG I attended, we arrived at 10PM!... But, then bro KC shared with me, ask our Heavenly Father set the possibilities for us. Tell God we want to go CG and He will make a way. Indeed He DID!! I find that my work started to end 5 mins earlier, then 15 mins, then 30 mins, and now.. We'll be in CG latest by around 8:45PM!

I - In Love with Christ
Falling in Love with Christ again and again. and it just gets better and better. Like aged Pu'er.. ok lar... Wine. ahahaha...

C- Christ Centered
From being someone who thrives on people's praises, now I've learnt to Praise the Lord under all circumstances. Even in hardship and sorrow, I Praise the Lord! All Glory to Him!

We continue to pray for God's Loving Hands to touch more lives and raise up more FANATICs for Jesus!!

BJ Hill Hiking

While we're having our breakfast together at Plus Two restaurant on last Sunday before going for Sunday Service, Benji suggested for hiking during the evening. And since most of us want to keep fit (add on with Jon's & Benji's persuasion skills), so a few of us went together.

We are supposed to start at 5pm, but Mary and Eric was late. (Wonder who's Mary? Read on :P). We waited till 6pm, and there we off up to the top!

There's some mis-communication and our photographer (big Daniel) flew us aeroplane and hence, I snapped a few pics using my humble handphone. So, do excuse me for the poor quality of the pictures below.

So now, you should be able to find out who's Mary in our CG. It was a fun outing and obviously I did it better comparing to the first time last year! At least this round we could reach the top within 30 minutes - rather than 45 minutes or 1 hour previously. Let's hope that next time I can reach the top in 15 minutes - just like Benji.

Cell Group Leader Appreciation

It was CG Leader Appreciation night. On this special day, CG leaders are supposed to take a break while all CG members will say some appreciation words to CG leaders to thank him/her for all the hardwork and effort in leading our CGs. However, on this special day, our CG Leader, Benji, was far at Sri Lanka for Mission Trip.

Jon was leading us that night. He chose a very beautiful song, and together we practiced the song in 1 hour. Later, we recorded the song using normal digital camera. Our two photographers - Daniel & Damien - are busy snapping away our pictures. In <48 hours, Daniel did a great presentation slide for our handsome CG leader in youtube. We sent the link to Benji when he's back from Sri Lanka. Of course, he felt touched - just wonder if he cries. :)

Anyway, it was a fun night. I thank God for our CG leader, and also all the lovely CG members.

morning ppl,

yesterday we ( mary,Mary's friend-hui sun, ericC,ben,smallD, BigD, winnie, EG and me) met up fro breakfast b4 service. later a smaller group went hiking at BJ. in the evening. Winnie made it to the top in excellent condition. sorry no pic as our official photographer - BigD didn't come la. then we all went to have makan accept winnie& EG as winnie sdh masak. anyways winnie promised to brush up her cooking skills and invite all of us to sample her delicious dishes, right winnie?

you know God is doing something with our group, as you know we were not this close b4 but somehow something changed and this is the beginnings of a greater work that God is doing in our CG. it's easier to live separate lives and maybe see one another a few hours on fri nite. we go about our biz rarely thinking what others are doing in their lives much less to think about what struggles they may be facing in their lives. somehow I think that is gonna changed whether we like it or not

In our work especially those in multinationals, you learn how to compartmentalize and organize our lives. you learn to box issues up - this one deal with it later, this one immediate action, that one throw away, that one, that one aiyo byk kepala sakit one!!! Its an effective skill that one acquires in order to perform to the max at work or else you would just go crazy. some how this skill can also flow over into our lives after work. and very often what will work in one place may not neccesarilly be as effective in another. that's where we all will have another super skill_ we have to unlearnt what we learn. This is especially important when we are dealing with lives and not inanimate objects eg work etc. In work , if we don't like to deal with an issue, we can hide it under a " to do when have time" pile. In lives, much as i wish it can be done( definitely will make my live simpler!)this way, but very often you end up hurting ppl

well God is stretching us. and one of the agents of stretching are ppl he has placed around us. they make us happy and glad but they also make us sad. but i'm afraid Throwing them out is not an option. filing them under the " don't wanna deal with it" stack is a choice you can make. Shutting ppl out is a choice. many times made because you've been hurt and don't wanna get hurt anymore. Unfortunately it also mean shutting God out of your lives. God knocks at the door of your heart for you to let Him in. He says " my child my yolk is easy. leave your burden behind and I will give you perfect rest". there is no guarantee when you open the door, ppl will not hurt you but there is absolute assurance that He will comfort you and heal every hurt and He will pick every single pc of your heart that has been broken into smithereens. pcs you think that have been so shattered that you think will never be complete again. But He say He will bind every broken hearted and set the captives free.He will make you complete again. Also when you open the door , you also open the door for "angels" that will come in and cheer your heart. they will encourage you, cry with you when you cry and laugh with you when you laugh. they will share their lives with you and help you through the rain. These are bros and sis He has placed around us.

welcome to our cg. welcome to our lives . let us be open and transparent. we are not perfect and may fail and dissappoint but we will be here - hand in hand , heart to heart.In this journey of life where God is perfecting us , while we are under construction, let us reach out to one another in His LOVE.
